As a platform for COHG’s investment, GuangCai Investment Group (GCIG) is utilizing project management to build a market-oriented top-tier investment company that creates values and shapes brand, by such means of strategic investment, venture investment, and industrial investment & convergence.

1. Venture investment

GuangCai Venture Investment (GCVI) is a specialized venture capital investment company under GCIG, where such products or services as of great industrial and market potentials, being high-tech driven, competitive and profitable will be favored. GCIG has invested in lithium battery, telecommunication products and bio-pharmacy projects, which have brought to it satisfying returns. The HIPIHI Cyber Virtual Life Platform that GCVI has invested in has made substantial progress.

2. Culture investment

Guangcai Culture & Media(GCM) is a specialized platform for GCIG to manage its investment in the culture industry. Starting from film production, GCM is engaged in amplifying its brand as Guangcai Culture, building a complete industry chain in culture and media to form a cultural investment group that will cover film and TV series, cinema, publishing, distribution, animation and celebrity brokerage etc.

In the first half of 2007, Arclight, the overseas sale agent of The Road, reached agreement with ImaginAsian on The Road’s distribution in North America. Meanwhile, GCM is continuing to look for feasible movie and TV series projects.

GCM invested in the production of The Road in 2005, its first film, the cast of which included such big names in the film circle as rising director Jiarui Zhang, photographer Liangzhong Lin (Taiwan), musician Shigeru Umebayashi (Japan), music director Wei Dong, actress Jingchu Zhang, actor Wei Fan and Yuan Nie etc. The Road won several prizes such as 2005 World Chinese Media Award (for the best film), The Prize for The Best Film The Golden Pyramid & The Prize for The Best Actress and The Best Actor (30th Cairo International Film Festival), The Prize for The Best Film & The Prize for The Best Screenwriting (the second AFFF). The Road had been catching eyes of the public for continuously winning prizes, which were covered by such influential media as CCTV1 Prime Time News, Xinhua News Agency, Sina.com, Beijing News, and Beijing Times etc.
